Hello, mika, certainly if you open a restaurant of this kind my children would be your regular customers, especially if there was a sandwich, they love the clowns and the circus, every time you make a circus in our city, I have to bring there enjoy them that much to attend to this form of contemporary art of ancient origins who thinks it dates back to 2 century BC at ancient Rome. I must say that clowns like mimes are artists, albeit within the circus they have a marginal role, compared with trapeze artists, conjurers, tamers ... because they do not particularly exceptional numbers, shall laugh and have fun with their colorful clothes, the enormous shoes from the tip rounded, red nose, a smile printed and painted white face that hides their real expression. To me the figure of the clown makes a lot of tenderness, because many people think that is a person capable of doing just laugh and entertain people, instead I believe that behind that mask there is a strong person able to hide their sadness and their states soul, to make others smile and I greatly appreciate his role, which is considered therapeutic (such as pet-therapy) in fact in Italian hospitals in areas where children are hospitalized, doctors and nurses often dress from clowns to make accept with greater serenity and positivity disease and hospitals which usually is not exactly a room-games (guess ... ... send me into depression !!!... especially the smell of disinfectant that just feel you enter !!!). This evening I wrote a little too (excuse if I bored you) but when I start to write come to mind many things and the time flies ... congratulations for your clowns in Paris, they are beautiful, you are very lucky to have your family who works with you in your work, this is very important, good night ... lots of kisses colored,

It makes me laugh every time I see the photos in this blog—I love clowns but have so many friends who absolutely are terrified of them. (Wasn’t it a Simpsons episode? “Can’t sleep, clown will eat me!” LOL!)

In any case, I think your particular clowns turned out beautifully, from what I can see thanks to your pics and youtube (hopefully in person one of these days!). And they reminded me of this cool clown slide at a hotel down in Walt Disney World:

I love it. I’ve lately thinking of painting some clowns. Though they can be scary they are quite mysterious and unforeseen. You never knows what hides behind that face, like most other masks.

Ps: tell Paloma and your mum that they did a great job with those costumes. If you’ll ever need a help with either costumes or cooking you can hire me. I love designing and I’m great with desserts

By the way, I just heard “Rain” and I love it. I wish that I could sing so I could sing it out loud now, cuz it’s just the way I feel.

En plus d’être sympathique il était très doué en claquette !! (ah ces clowns sont toujours pleins de ressources ! )

En tout cas les croquis sont interessants et magnifiques. Les clowns ont toujours un aspect joyeux et tristes à la fois, c’est assez intriguant quant on y réfléchi.

PS : un grand bravo à ta soeur et à ta mère car faire de tels costumes ne doit pas être évident.

L’idée des clowns me plait vraiment. Comme toi j’aime ces personnages qui sont à la fois tristes et joyeux.

Je n’ai malheureusement pas pu assister à ton extraordinaire show au Parc des Princes mais j’aurais tant aimé y être!.
J’ai tout de même pu voir que tous ces personnages issus du cirque, toute cette ambiance donne vraiment l’impression au public de se trouver dans une grande fête ou bien une sorte de carnaval. Enfin tes concerts SONT de grandes fêtes où tout le monde est de bonne humeur! Ca fait plaisir à voir!

Pour revenir aux clowns, j’ai quand même eu la chance d’en voir un à ton concert aux arènes de Nîmes !D’ailleurs, la manière dont il dansait et se trémoussait nous a bien fait rire mes amies et moi! :D
C’était vraiment très amusant!

Alors pour ton idée de changer les serveurs ennuyeux des restaurants en clowns je suis totalement d’accord avec toi!Ce serait très drôle!! :D
Puis si jamais tu comptes ouvrir un restaurant n’oublie pas de m’engager comme serveuse!HAHA!

Bref tout ça pour dire que l’idée de ces clowns est vraiment originale. J’aime les croquis aussi mais à quoi correspondent les chiffres marqués sur le côté? Des dimensions peut-être?

Cet univers de clowns a ajouté à ton show (déjà si extra) une touche d’émotion inexplicable! Du début à la fin j’ai été transporté!
D’ailleurs y a pas assez de mots pour exprimer ce que j’ai ressenti pendant ses 90 minutes! Je suis passé par toutes les émotions!
Du rire aux larmes! J’espère vraiment qu’un dvd va sortir!

Ed, a t’elle pris modèle sur toi pour le visage du clown ?
Sur la photo où vous ètes de profil, des détails comme la bouche m’ont frappée. Sur les croquis les cheveux bouclés, les grands yeux, la forme de la bouche…
Je ne serais pas étonnée si c’était vrai.

Two days ago I went to cinema to see “une chanson dans la tete”, a film by Hany Tamba which happens in Beyrouth, I recommend it to you, I liked especially the blues of Abou l’zouz

LOL, just speaking off clowns etc… did anybody ever see the Maury show where people had phobias? There was a lady on it afraid of clowns, balloons, mustard but there was also a man called Shawn afraid of peaches.Check it out on youtube. Not that I think it’s funny to laugh at them, but it does cheer me up when needed

The sketches are brilliant,I really like them,especially the 1st one.I’m very sorry I’ve never seen none of your shows live,so I’ve neither seen the clown costumes….hope that’ll change soon lol.

The idea for restaurant is great! It could be a very big one,with walls painted as “Life In Cartoon Motion”,with all characters from your songs and shows as the employees…and I…I could be your assistant! LOL! no seriously Mika,I’m very good at that kind of job xD

Oh and you are terribly cute on the last pic,with that clown head. I luv it!

Love the resturant idea. Have you been to Parc Asterix? (I’m sure you have) If not, you have to go!
They have the most amazing circus resturant!! And not to mention great shows. - which have been improved greatly since I last went.

I really love clowns, seeing them always gives that lovely bittersweet feeling. Thank you so much for sharing these early sketches of the clowns, they are great!
I couldn’t come to the Paris show, I was only able to go to your Amsterdam gig this July, which was truly BRILLIANT and AMAZING!!!!

The restaurant you’ve described with the clown valet and receptionist sounds so cool! I’m wondering what type of food could be served there lol.

Haha great ! I liked the clowns very much, I saw them in Amsterdam too
But Mika ! I’m happy that you don’t run a restaurant ; I work at a restaurant and those outfits I have to wear already are very hot to work in! So, a clown-suit seems a brilliant idea, but the employees will sweat to death haha but still; you’re brilliant !!!

Thanks so much for sharing those sketches, they are BRIL !!! The Parc des Princes gig seemed SSOOOOO amazing, so sad I was on the other side of the big pond and couldn’t go !

Really looking forward to seeing it on DVD.

Oh and that restaurant idea… I would defo go to a place like that.  Just to see the clown valet drive the cars would be worth it lol !!
