Mika unveils new video for ‘Good Guys’

Posted May 26 2015

Today sees the unveiling of Mika’s new video for huge new song ‘Good Guys.’

The song is a bittersweet homage to ‘heroes dressed up in gold,’ the men who inspired him growing up. Throughout the tune, Mika name-checks pop star David Bowie, songwriter Cole Porter, poet Walt Whitman, French writer Jean Cocteau, actor James Dean and others. The song plaintively asks, “Where have all the gay guys gone?” and also paraphrases Oscar Wilde’s famous aphorism, “We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars.”

The video is simple with a carefully performed dance routine to reflect the beauty of the words. It was shot in London and directed by KT Auleta, who also directed ‘Talk About You.’
